Amina Buddafly, also called Aminata Schmahl, is one half of an R&B duo, also known as Black Buddafly.
She is a bandmate with her sibling, Jazz, also known as Safietou Schmahl. Black Buddafly had their elder sister Sophie Schmahl, from 2000 until 2006.
Producer Orin Ennis spotted them in 2002. They then signed with Def Jam Records in 2005. .
They released two singles, "Rock-A-Bye" and "Bad Girl feat. Fabolous," while signing to Def Jam. .
The tracks were not very profitable, and their association with Def Jam ended in 2007. .
In 2008 the band signed with MBK Records/J but split from the label in 2010. .
The group has been releasing two mixtapes. Amina Buddafly was a brand new participant on the popular show "Love and Hip Hop" in 2013.
